This past week on UpStreet, we continued Jesus parable of the Lost Son in Luke 15:21-32. Although the son returns ready to work off the money he took from his father, the father welcomes his Lost Son home, and even throws a giant party! But not everyone’s too happy about this. The kid’s older brother has obeyed dad all his life— without a single party to show for it. He’s sulking in the backyard until his dad shows up. And if big brother isn’t willing to let this whole thing go, he’ll miss out.
Our bottom line for this week is "When you don’t forgive, you miss out."

Thanks to our MANSTUF MEN, we now have some more parking spaces! But with Stella's snowflakes still saturating spaces, some servants say saving space with satellite lots is supreme. All alliteration aside, what if all of us who could followed the lead of our MANSTUF MEN and served others by parking in our Squires Ave. lot and the municipal lot on Oak Hill? It would be AWESOME. Check out the video below shot before the storm.

THANK YOU hardly seems like enough.

The men of New Life came together this morning for some food, some fellowship, and to GET STUFF DONE!

The guys...
-- Heard a message about forgiveness (deciding that someone who did you wrong does not have to pay)
-- Took down the KIDSTUF set.
-- Vacuumed the hallway, lounge, and worship center (Dana Reid Weseman, the guys chose to forgive you for all the glitter on the carpet 😜)
-- Reset the chairs in the worship center
-- FILLED a 10 yard dumpster with junk, clearing a big closet and children's room for new use!!
-- Took some old tube TV's and monitors to the recycling center
-- Worked on snow cleanup, making some more parking spots available.

WOW!! We've got some amazing men.

I love our church family!!

Pastor Sab v. Daylight Savings Time
Pastor Sab is running for office. He has not said what office, but Thursday at 1:30 p.m. he announced to a small group of supporters at New Life that he was running for office. Who is Sab's opponent in the race for this unknown office? Daylight Savings Time. When is the election? Sunday.
The two platforms could not be more opposite, leaving voters with a clear choice.
Daylight Savings Time is on record as supporting increased daylight during the summer's waking hours and the conservation of fuel used to create artificial light. Daylight Savings Time has kept its campaign promises since its first election in WWI, its second in WWII, and its standardization in 1966. The seasoned veteran received its first political endorsement from Benjamin Franklin in 1784.
Sab, on the other hand, stated his platform is to simply add another hour of sleep to both the spring and fall time changes. This, the political newcomer contends, would cause us to keep falling back until eventually today becomes yesterday. Sab has not stated what the advantage of this would be.
Sab, who is unendorsed, left some of his supporters confused as to how today would become yesterday. One even quoted as stating, "I don't think that's how time works." But he does have a catchy slogan: "Move Backward."
The election is Sunday and Daylight Savings Time is expected to win another landslide victory. In fact, most of the U.S. WILL set their clocks AHEAD one hour Saturday night. But for those of you who would like to cast your vote early, please leave a comment below.

This month on Main Street, we’re working to build into kids a love for others. Imagine with me, for a moment, a world filled with men and women who love others the way Jesus loves us. That’s what we want for our preschoolers.

We began last weekend with the story of the Good Samaritan. He was a great example of how to love everyone. Jesus was always helping people—no matter who they were—and that’s what the Good Samaritan did, too. We want our preschoolers to know that they can love others by helping.
