Our Mission
Love God. Love People. Make Disciples.
Come as you are. We aim to meet people where they are at, and walk with them on the journey God has planned for their life. We believe that as we are filled with God’s love on our journies, it is our individual responsibility to pour out love to others in spiritual and tangible ways to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision
Raise up. Reach out. Restore Lives
New Life’s Vision gives our Mission a game plan. We RAISE UP leaders who are filled with the love of Christ so we can REACH OUT to our community, pour out that love, and RESTORE LIVES by Christ’s power.
BUILDING AN INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY
At New Life, we know inclusivity is a wonderful and ongoing process. Each day we learn more about what it means to truly invite everyone and practice faith together as the body of Christ. It is our pledge to always pursue inclusion, harmony, and peace among all people at our church.

LBGTQ+ community members are welcome and safe here at New Life; we want our church to be a place where anyone, regardless of sex, gender, or orientation, can encounter Jesus.
We hold a traditional view that marriage is between one man and one woman. We believe that everyone, including those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, can live holy and fulfilled lives in Christ by abiding by his instructions for all people concerning sexual morality. LGBTQ+ community members are respected and treated with dignity in our congregation. We walk alongside all people as they grow in their relationship with Jesus and respond to God’s call to holiness. Want to start a conversation? Our Lead Pastor Joe Wickman would love to talk with you. Reach out to him by email at [email protected].

We are passionate about raising up leaders; we abide by God’s calling and equipping both men and women as leaders, teachers, and pastors. Just as the prophet Joel predicted, “God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy… both men and women, in those days I will pour out my Spirit; and they shall prophesy.” (Acts 2:17-18)

We do not shy away from acknowledging the real tension between races in our society. Racism is a problem in our world – the Gospel is the solution. We have taken a systematic approach to diversity, and it starts with regularly asking God for diversity, training, learning, and a heart for culture – and He has provided. We embrace all opportunities to learn and grow. If you would like to speak to our Lead Pastor, Joe Wickman about New Life’s system for Diversity and Inclusion, he would be happy to hear from you at [email protected]
150 YEARS OF HISTORY
New Life has been a part of the Southern Tier of New York for over 150 years. We operate under a church board form of governance and are a staff-led church. We wholeheartedly invest in our foundational ministries like our three Family Ministries (we have a ministry for babies and toddlers, elementary-aged children, and teens), our recovery ministry New Life Celebrates Recovery, and our Outreach Ministry, serving our local community and international endeavors as well. It is our pledge to use every bit of creativity we have to share the Message in new and relatable ways through our Worship Ministry, Dramatic Arts Ministry, and with safe and friendly events all year round.
Our church finances come solely from the faithful generosity of the church body, and we operate with an open-book policy. If you would like to see the books during the year, we invite you to set up an appointment with our Operations Pastor, Jon Scofield, who will share all our proceedings – both Board action and financial – with you upon request.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our church, and it is their dedication and serving hearts that secure the sustainability and growth of ministry at New Life. It is our deep belief and passion that WE – you and I – are the Church. We are all brothers and sisters in God’s Church, and together we form New Life, a ministry dedicated to His will and Word.
New Life Ministries is part of the Free Methodist Church.
